A Modified Two-Parameter Monthly Water Balance Model for Runoff Simulation to Assess Hydrological Drought

چکیده

Quantitative assessment of the frequency and magnitude drought events plays an important role in preventing disasters ensuring water security river basins. In this paper, we modified a parsimonious two-parameter monthly balance (TPMWB) model by incorporating generalized proportionality hypothesis with precipitation potential evapotranspiration as input variables. The TPMWB was then used to simulate hydrological processes 30 sub-basins Han River basin. It is shown that can satisfactorily regimes selected sub-basins. We derived probability distribution functions runoff using principle maximum entropy calculate Standardized Runoff Index (SRI), assessed historical conditions. By investigating correlation between four major characteristics (i.e., duration, severity, intensity, inter-arrival time) dimensionless parameters representing climatic underlying properties basin, conclusion be drawn formation development basin mainly controlled watershed storage factors, influence factors also significant. proposed approach provides alternative for regional early warning under changing environmental

Kinematic runoff and erosion model efficiency assessment for hydrological simulation of semi-arid watersheds

Hydrologic modeling of semi-arid watersheds is imperative for the development of appropriate water and soil conservation plans. In the current study, the efficiency of Kinematic Runoff and Erosion model-version 2 (K2) model was used to evaluate water discharge and sediment load simulation of Bar watershed, located in the north-eastern part of Iran. The K2 model relies on the kinematic wave appr...

Simulation of the climate change impact on monthly runoff of Dez watershed using IHACRES model

Identification and analysis of flow fluctuations in consequences of climate change is one of the most important factors in water resources management planning and this is vital especially in areas where large crowds are engaged in agriculture. Dez watershed, as an agricultural hub in the country, is one of areas that river flow fluctuations caused by climate change can affect a large population...
